I am an Australian Artist currently painting a collection of paintings about the 1836 Texas ‘Battle of San Jacinto’ and I have been scouring the internet for some images of a 70 ft Scow Schooner which may represent a model for me to paint from.
My actual 1836 subject is the ‘Flash’ schooner; which was approximately 70 ft long and 77 tonne, and delivered the ‘Twin Sisters’ cannons to General Sam Houston after which it then transported the Texas cabinet from the threatened mainland to the safety of Galveston Island.
I am very impressed by the building of this current 70 ft Scow Schooner by Ted Box and I would greatly appreciate to be updated on the progress and eventual completion of this amazing construction.
